These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates.
Partnering with families to provide an environment where children know what Jesus looks like, adore him because he is worthy, are invited to belong to him, and live the life of adventure and purpose God has for them.
We believe there is nothing more transformative in changing the world than in the way we do family. In our Children’s ministry that looks not watering down the gospel because children get access to the same God that adults do. Children are included and important in the family of our church. Kids get to be part of worship, community, and service of our church body. It’s giving children space to be free, imaginative, and expressive in creativity, worship, and play. It’s showing children what God looks like, how he is their helper, their savior, their friend, their creator, the God who is with them and wants to talk to them. It’s developing leaders who the children can look to and see extraordinary faith, unshakable hope, and extravagant love.
Babies - Preschool
In our preschool ministry, our mornings are spent doing lots of hands on activities. We use lots of repetition to create the building blocks of a relationship with Jesus for our children. We teach the children from the bible and involve parents in helping proclaim to their kids who God is and what He has done. We sing, dance, do finger plays, and make messes all while focusing on the attributes and character of God.
Kindergarten- 5th grade
During these years we continue to build on the foundation that’s beginning to come together in really amazing ways. The elementary age is a discipleship model and we concentrate on relationship building, bible navigation, and spiritual development. Kids are invited into leadership with one another and with younger ages in worship and in prayer. We worship, explore the bible together, get out lots of energy, gather in small groups, pray for one another, all while continuing to learn about the nature and character of God.
Bridgeport’s children’s ministry is run by an extraordinary team of volunteers from the Bridgeport body. We would love for you to join in this powerful ministry, and there are a variety of ways to serve. We have training and materials to equip volunteers with any range of experience and use a team teaching model, which helps new volunteers acclimate to their class. We provide detailed lessons and prepare the materials each week, so teachers have a clear guideline and structure for the class.
